I can’t tell you what an incredible experience it is to photograph dear friends – who normally live thousands of miles away – in the comfort and beauty of my own back yard! Lucas, James and I were so blessed to have Abe and Melissa, along with their three lively daughters, visit us this spring in Manhattan, KS. What a happy coincidence that Melissa’s brother lives practically just down the street from us. I’m so glad we were included on their cross country adventure! The best part is that I hope to see even more of the Winter-Lewis clan this summer in the Pacific Northwest when I’m in the Seattle area visiting my brother! I love when networks of friends and family tie our lives together.
What spunky little sweeties these three are!

Someone wanted to stay close to Mommy but we still captured her pretty smile.
I am so impressed by these two! Without this “behind the scenes” capture you would never know Abe and Melissa had their three little chickadees huddling around them during their own portrait time. You know you’re accomplished as parents when you can effortlessly pose for portraits while simultaneously serving as a jungle gym, and STILL be having a great time!

What an honor and blessing is to capture the fun-loving affection which binds these two together. I love Abe and Melissa’s ability to keep joy and perspective in the midst of raising three small children, across several continents and through all kinds of transitions.
